Music is so powerful. It evokes so much emotion and feeling. Music is what keeps me going each day. I listen to music while cleaning the house or editing photos. Music is such a huge part of my daily life. Certain songs have certain meanings to a situation in my life. Happiness or sadness can be portrayed in a song or bring the feeling of emotions to your frame of mind at that time. Some of my favorites songs are so deep rooted in emotion and passion.
I love all different genres of music and can appreciate all the depths of each persons music. Some of my favorite artists are Jack White, Elton John, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Placebo, Van Morrison, Otis Redding, The Killers, Alt-J, Queen, The Who, and so many more. In my mind as songs play I have a story going along with each song and then as more and more songs play I have comprised a whole life longs story in my head. I think music sets the mood and gives you that feeling as if you are the character in the story. It helps you interpret what is going on even more as an added piece of the whole picture. As a photographer I see a bigger picture with each individual photo I take. I can piece the story together in my mind.
One thing I will be working on in the future and hopefully the near one, is a book of poetry or small stores and have photos and maybe some music to accompany them. My passions extend further out into writing as well as photography. I love writing and the free expression and I love doing that and carrying it out in my photographs as much as possible too. I have always wrote stuff since I was younger. In 8th grade I wrote a short story that was about 36 pages. I would work on it intensely everyday in history class for about 3 weeks. It was a tragic love story. Poetry I have written a lot of in high school. I use to write song lyrics too. I want to dive into my other passions more.
Silently the wind comes creeping up through the branches of leaves,
It whispers sweet love songs to the fair tree maiden,
Her whole hearty tree trunk is filled with the seasons,
As one passes and another enters,
The green turns to brown,
The leaves of passion are now dying,
Falling down to the earth beneath her hearty trunk,
Everything that once was is now gone and swept away,
The now dark and bare branches have subcome to winters never ending chill,
As seasons change once more,
The wind whispers it's sweet love song,
The tree is now filled with overwhelming joy,
Love that once was has now come back,
The golden rays shine down and the brown is now budding green,
Everything returns back,
In the circle of life,
In the circle of love.
